my friend Ryan was on the Price is Right today! News Channel 10 came and watched it with us, lol... good times

Things are going well here. School is already started in full
force. This semester is kind of an unusual semester for me
because I don't have any science labs (thankfully!!!) and I also have a
bunch of "englishy" type courses, it seems like. I like all of my
profs, though, so that's cool. Four of my classes, I'm going to
have a great deal of papers to write so that's kind of overwhelming,
but I guess I can only take that stuff one day at a time...

It's been fun being back here and hanging out with all my fellow
sycamores again... For living with these people for most of the year,
not seeing them for 3 months is pretty strange... The Haute really
hasn't smelled all that bad lately, so that's a plus! The Haute
got a Coldstone over the summer, too, so I have a feeling that a lot of
my money will be going towards that place... haha.

I'm coming home this weekend for Labor Day weekend. I'm pretty
pumped. JL's coming with me Friday night, and then we've got the
game on Saturday. Then JL's leaving Saturday night and I'll be
around until probably Monday. Good times will be had!

Aight, I'm off to go pump some mad iron... hope everyone's semesters are starting out well!
                   Later
Monday, August 14, 2006

Well after about a month since my last post, I figured it was probably
about time for me to update... sorry to keep all you avid readers
out there in suspense!

So summer's pretty much flown by... Courtney and Darci's last day of
summer vacation is tomorrow, and it seems unreal that we're already
back to the beginning of a new school year. It's crazy that
Darci's going to be a junior, but it seems even crazier that Courtney's
going to be a senior! How bizarre... my two baby sisters are
growing up so fast... lol.

I'm taking the MCAT this Saturday. I'm so ready to get it over
with, you have no idea. I'm really nervous for it, but I know
that if I'm supposed to get into medical school that God will provide
the way and he'll open up the doors. It just sucks that I've
studied all summer for it, and then I'll take it Saturday and then
classes start that next Wednesday. Yay for basically studying
away my entire life, lol. Hopefully, though, I won't have to
retake the test so next summer I'll be able to hang out with people and
actually have parties and such...

Speaking of parties, Tracie turned 21 on Saturday, so a bunch of us
went out to dinner at Pepe's and then several of us went bowling
afterwards. It was definitely a hot time. It's crazy that
people are starting to turn 21 already... Here's a picture from
Saturday after we ate dinner and before we went bowling:

good times! Eric Yee also moved home this weekend, so he's back
in town. Welcome back, man! Welcome back to Andrea, too,
for making it back safely from Europe (although, I believe you're over
in Nebraska now, but at least you're in the same country as the rest of
us now, lol!) My aunt Jenni who lives out in Colorado is working
out of Indiana this week, so she also stayed here this past weekend
with us. It was awesome seeing her again! This weekend just
pretty much rocked!

A week from tomorrow, I'll be moving back to the Haute. I'll
be representin' in Rhoads Hall 505 again with Chris. I'm anxious
to see my fellow sycamores. I've missed them a lot over the
summer! I just don't want classes to start. They get in the
way of my college experience, lol. It's going to be hard leaving
everyone back here... I've got an idea... how about we all just move to
some island in the ocean, and we'll all just start our own little
village or something... Who's with me?

Well, this is getting long and I'm getting tired, so I'm off to
bed. Hopefully it won't be another month before I update
again... Haha, goodnight, folks!
Sunday, July 16, 2006

Well, the New York trip fell through... Sandi had some pretty bad back
problems that caused her to basically be bed ridden for awhile, so mom
stayed home with her. Dad, Courtney, Darci, and I decided to go
back to Warren Dunes, a state park in Michigan right on Lake
Michigan. That makes 4 out of the last 5 years we've gone
there. It was really fun, but it was extremely unfortunate that
Sandi had to stay home... I felt so bad for her. Our camping
trips are never the same without her... It was good we didn't go to New
York, though, because our van overheated 3 times on the way there and
then we blew a tire on the interstate on the way back... it was quite
the trip!

It's good to be back home, but it was so nice to get away for
awhile. It was nice to get away from everything (mainly MCAT
studying) and just get to relax with the family, hang out at the beach,
and not worry about stuff... I think everyone needs a little bit of
time like that every now and then... I did read a book that I recommend
for y'all. It's called Monster, and it's by Frank Peretti.
Ironically enough, it's about a couple who is camping and gets attacked
by these creatures in the woods... it was kind of creepy to be reading
it while camping, lol. I know it sounds weird, but it's really
good. Very suspensful, that's for sure...

Anyway, I need to head to bed. Just one last thought for y'all...
"I'm a country boy, but I'm a playa' too." Well put, Bubba
Sparks. Haha, goodnight, kids
Sunday, July 09, 2006

Well, tomorrow early morning I'm leaving for New York to go on the
infamous Speakman camping trip of the summer. We're camping in a
state park near Buffalo, NY this year. I believe the park is 5
miles or something like that from Niagra Falls. I'm pretty
pumped... especially since I've never been to New York before. We
will also probably go over to the Canadian side and spend some time in
Canada, too. I've been to Canada before, but never in that
part. It'll be a pretty sweet time.

We think that this will be the last summer to go as the whole family on
our camping trip which is sad. Next summer, Sandi will be doing
her rotations, so she won't be able to get an entire week off.
The following summer, Sandi and I will both be graduating and who knows
about when she'll start a job and all that... I don't know, it's going
to be harder and harder to get the whole camping trip to work out...
growing up stinks sometimes...

Oh, well, we won't think about that right now. For now, I'm off
to bed, and in the morning... New York, here I come! Goodnight,
y'all and have a great week!
Tuesday, July 04, 2006

Quick recap of what I've been up to:

Farmer's Market, new restaurant, and Austronaut's Wife on Thursday,
hanging out with Yee-dawg and watching Alias Friday; visiting Ben,
grocery shopping, movie and drive-in with a bunch of really cool people
Saturday; trip to Columbia City to see my aunt and uncle's new baby
Isaac Shalom Iaone on Sunday and watching Dark Water with Courtney when
we got back; and finally today helping dad do some staining and then
hanging out with Yee-dawg, going to dinner with him and Tracie, playing
tennis with them, going to the Silver Dipper, playing piano/singing,
and coming home... Thanks to everyone for making these past few days
great. It's been awesome to see/hang out with all of you guys,
and hope we can do it all again.

Tomorrow morning my aunt and uncle and three cousins are coming here to
barbeque and hang out for the 4th. I'm excited, but it'll be kind
of weird to not have a party since I have the past two years. It
should be a good time, though. We're heading over to Slater Hill
then tomorrow night for fireworks. Oh how I love fireworks... which speaking of fireworks...

Happy 4th of
July!!!

Hope you
all have a wonderful 4th! Have fun with your festivities, be
safe, and enjoy the time you have with family and friends!!!
This past weekend was The Wizard of
Oz at the amphitheater, and to all who were involved, you guys were
amazing! I wish that it was so great and the numbers were so high
when I was involved with it like it has been these past couple of
years. Oh well, you win some and you lose some... Maybe I'll just
forget this whole doctor thing and try to make it as an actor!
Wouldn't that be awesome?

My grandparents and my uncle came this weekend as well as my aunt that
moved to Denver. They all came to see Courtney in the musical,
and then they spent the night and went to church with us Sunday
morning. It was really great to see them! I love family...

So not a whole lot of excitement is going on in my life... I'm mainly
just studying for the MCAT every day... barf... I did clean ol'
bertha brown today. I must say, minus the massive rust spots
she's looking mighty fine! lol. She does have a new cd
player now, so that's pretty awesome In other news, Dad is leaving in a couple days to go to Delaware to
audit some company so I get to be the man of the house for a couple
days. Scary, eh? Eric Yee is coming home this weekend, so
that'll be a good time, too! Holla'!

Oh, yeah! I had like an actually scary dream last night... so
we were driving down this road, my family and I, that was incredibly
hilly and curvy when suddenly we went over this cliff and started
falling straight down. We land on top of all these other cars and
people, and I wake up (in my dream, not in real life) and see there are
cars about ready to fall on top of us. So then we all get out of
the way and see that we're all ok when someone points out that the
reason we fell was because some massive boat crashed through and
knocked over a bridge that was supposed to be there. There was
this huge missile that had gone through the boat, and as soon as we
looked, something started coming out of the missile... they were like
these little tiny missiles, and they attacked us all. They like
attached to our bodies and then like swelled up and caused us to not be
able to talk or breathe... so I remembered looking around thinking that
we were all going to die like that, and then I woke up unable to
breathe for a second. Pretty bizarre, huh?! It seemed very
much like something from the movie War of the Worlds or something...

Haha, anyway on that note, I'm heading to bed. Lol, goodnight!

I'm sure you have
all been anxiously awaiting the day for my next post... haha, yeah,
right!

Let's see, what's been going on... Since job shadowing and then the
conference in Evansville have been over, I've mainly been studying for
the MCAT. I officially registered last weekto take it, so I'm
going to be taking that on August 19th... yuck... This past weekend on
Friday, I hung out with Lindsey, John, Karley, and Andrew which was
really fun. It was great seeing all them again! Then I
stopped by and hung out with Eric for awhile. It was really good
to catch up with him, too. I think he should forget the whole CAT
internship and just move back to Lafayette... Oh, yeah, random story of
the night... We were getting ready to go to dinner, and we all walked
past this van with a man in the driver's seat, a girl in the passenger
seat, and then a llama like on the girl's lap... Lol, it was probably
the most bizarre thing I had seen in a long time. Who puts a
llama in their van?! Haha, good times...

Anyway, Saturday was Adam and Hannah's wedding in Illinois. JL
and I rode together there, and then Caitlin followed me home
afterwards. It was really fun, and it was really good to see
those people again. Then Sunday Dad and I sang a duet at church,
and then that afternoon we celebrated Father's day. After that, I
studied organic chem the rest of that night... It was a busy, but fun
weekend!

Well it's really late, so I need to get to bed. I hope y'all had
a good Monday! I also hope that all of you guys that I haven't
gotten to see like at all this summer we can hang out very soon... I
miss you guys!

As I'm sure y'all know, Tracie and I ventured up to Fort Wayne to see
Kenny Chesney (along with Little Big Town and Dierks Bentley).
This concert was seriously indescribable... It was so awesome!
Our seats were freakin' sweet, too... 17th row on the floor!
Honestly, it was the best concert I have ever been to. It was
just so intense, and I just felt like he brought the entire audience in
and made us all apart of the concert. And it was awesome because
he was tellin' us that while life sometimes blows and we all have our
problems, during those few hours, none of that mattered... all that
mattered was having a good time and gettin' lost in the music!
...and that's definitely what we did! He's just simply the man...
that's all there is to it! No wonder he got entertainer of the
year...

Now the next step = meeting him... Haha, and then once we meet him,
he'll want to hang out with us so much that we'll just become famous by
association.

Hope y'all are havin' a good week, and I'll take to y'all later!
I'm in Evansville for the rest of the week at a conference and then to
a wedding Saturday in northern Indiana... Have a good one!

*WARNING: any and all comments left on
this post degrading the amazingness of country music and/or Kenny
Chesney will be immediately deleted from the site and further action
may or may not be taken*
